Singapore Eats: Buon Appetito at Ricciotti The Riverwalk, Clarke Quay

Tuesday night and I am feeling Italian again. My first dining experience at Ricciotti the Riverwalk was quite sweet, so I brought my colleague to Ricciotti again to try some of the other dishes on its menu. We were so starving up to the point we ordered two types of Antipasti (re: appetiser). The first one is the cant-get-it-wrong Fried Calamari. There's nothing special about fried calamari because after all, everything which is fried is mostly yummy. #friedstuffeater

While the other...the other was unexpectedly good but..I forgot its name. OMG. Maybe I really worked too hard. Haha. Basically it's fried dough stuffed with mozzarella cheese. The fried sticks are served with mayo sauce. Fried dough + mozzarella filling = ultimate foodgasm. XD

For the pizza, you can mix and match two type of pizza in one pan. I chose Prosciutto Cotto E Funghi (which for easy translation is the pizza with prosciutto as its topping) while my colleague chose Carnivora (honey baked ham, chicken, spicy salami, minced beef, tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese) because she is simply a carnivore. #pardonthepun

We were so looking forward to the dessert and because we wanted to deviate from the usual tiramisu, we ordered Apple Cinnamon Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream. Ultimate happiness.

Ricciotti Riverwalk is actually located alongside the Singapore River in Clarke Quay. You can enjoy the view of the sunset at Clarke Quay before you have your dinner at Ricciotti. =)

Singapore Eats: Friday Night Catch Up at Dallas Restaurant & Bar, Boat Quay

No matter who your companion is, Boat Quay is where you want to be on a Friday night. Because the road is lit up with all kind of lights and live band music on a Friday night. This Friday, we decided to chow down food at Dallas Restaurant and Bar in Boat Quay.

We were already so hungry when we arrived so we quickly ordered a starter, Fried Calamari. These fried squids are good. Yum!

To balance our meal, we also "surprisingly" ordered a bowl of Crunchy Honey Mustard Bacon Salad. Right, the salad does not really sound so healthy. But at least, it's green. Green food is healthy (really?).

Next, we are so ready to chow down our main dishes. First on our table is the Baby Back Berry Ribs. I really like marinated BBQ ribs but ribs are so expensive, I can only eat this probably twice a year. #sad

The next dish on the table is Chicken Schnitzel which is described as tender chicken breast pan-fried in Japanese breadcrumbs. The chicken is served with salad greens so I suppose this can be categorised into "healthy" category. Hehe.

Once you are full, you know what to do on a Friday night, right? Yeah, bring out the alcohol! Since the catch up session was attended by all girls, we ordered one cocktail each so that we could try each other's drink: Bellini - Dallas Sangria - Long Island Tea - Frozen Appletini

Singapore Cafe: Criollo Cocoa Cafe, Orchard Gateway

I had an agreement with a friend to keep on trying new cafe every time we have chance to catch up with each other (she's a busy person while I, on the other hand, merely keep socialising at minimum level..uhm..). #ansos

So, on this day where I have the energy (and the willingness) to socialise, we went to Orchard Gateway and tried a hidden cafe there called Criollo Cocoa Cafe.

The cafe is kinda hidden because it is located right below the connecting bridge between Orchard Gateway and the other side of the building. Okay, I don't know if the connecting bridge has been opened to public yet.

We ordered fried calamari to share as an appetiser. I realised our appetiser is usually either calamari or truffle fries. XD

I tried the chicken pomodoro spaghetti. I had a bit of difficulty recognising the chicken pieces because they are exceptionally chopped and hidden under the pasta.

My friend ordered chicken chop served with fries. The chicken chop tastes better than the pomodoro pasta.

The atmosphere of the cafe is quite nice but the quality of the food is so-so. Well, if you are tired from shopping around Orchard area and want to sit down and relax, you can consider coming to Criollo Cocoa Cafe. We have not had the chance to try their drinks too. Maybe next time.
