Taiwan Travel: Hualien Crafts and Souvenir Centre

Whenever we join a tour group, a visit to the craft and souvenir centre is always included in the itinerary without fail. This time around, we are visiting another craft centre in Hualien.

The building kinda looks like a museum.

Hualien Statue Museum And Souvenir Store

It was actually a souvenir store for jade, figures, statues, etc and surprisingly, it seems that a lot of tour group operators bring their tourists here.

They even have Mickey Mouse statue. How random is this gonna be?

A Greek statue. Uhm..okay.

And a super duper expensive dragon statue made from orange jade.

The price inside most of souvenir stores in Taiwan is open for bargain. So make sure to give your best shot in order to secure the best price for your shopping here.

Taiwan Travel: Strolling under the rain in Hualien

I don't like it when it's raining especially when I am on a trip. But weather is not totally within our control, and sometimes, we just have to sing under the rain. I'm singiiiinggg in the raiinnnnn~~~

Yep, you guessed it correctly. It was raining heavily in Hualien. U_U.

But there's no way I'm gonna spend the day inside my hotel room. So off we went~~~

We were actually on our way to one of the tourist attraction in Hualien, Pine Garden. It is within walking distance from our hotel but I suppose we should have known when the Taiwanese says it's within walking distance...it may not be that near after all. XD

Continuing on, passing by a temple..

迷路! (Mílù/ lost our way). Since we really need rescue and the mechanic speaks English...unashamedly, we went in and bugged the mechanic who was having his lunch. Sorry!!! >.<!

Nice mechanic helped us to show the right way to Pine Garden. Xie xie!!

Strolling next to somewhat-artistic wall...

And stopped for a while to take picture of the river. I seldom see clean river in Jakarta so this kind of view is precious. Hahaha. =)

Hopefully, we would arrive at our destination soon. LOL.

Taiwan Travel: Beautiful Nature at Taroko Gorge, Hualien

After long hours of riding a car, we have finally arrived at the most famous location in Taroko, the Taroko Gorge and Eternal Spring Shrine Trail. Yippie!

If you go with tour, you will not make a stop at this location cause there's no way a bus can park nearby. You can only access this spot if you are either taking cab or mini bus. Btw, did you notice human face in this picture?

The right side of the rock cliff indeed resemble human face, right? Don't you agree?

Under the right side cliff, you can spot a cave and a road going into the cliff. The cab driver told us that the road was used to be part of hiking trail but it's no longer accessible now due to earthquake and landslide in recent months. Kinda scary, when you think of it.

After another 30 mins drive, we have reached another spot called Eternal Spring Shrine Trail. You will see a lot of tourists starting from here. Because this place is accessible by tour bus.

The Eternal Spring Shrine is one of the most picturesque landmark of the park and it is also served as memorials for war veterans.

I never know rocks can be picturesque. Hahaha.

There is a road went into the cave and if you continue walking you will see an altar for praying. If you walk further I suppose you can reach the shrine but none of us was adventurous enough to walk that far. =P

After we spent enough time walking around and enjoying the view, we hopped back into the cab to go to our next destination, Hualien. See you in Hualien! ^^
