It feels so good when it's a public holiday on Wednesday. I often think that four working days in a week is the best way to ensure that you are not over-worked. Although some people still prefer to bring back work to home when they suppose to enjoy their off day. Some people just love to work hard. Can't blame them though, after all everyone is entitled to do what they enjoy in life.

Continuing on our journey at Lavender Cottage, we were finally getting hungry after wandering around enjoying the mountain view and the beautiful lavender flowers. Thankfully, Lavender Cottage has restaurant where you can utilise the NTD100 vouchers which come with the admission ticket.

This is the menu of the food and drink offered at Lavender Cottage. They seem to provide a range of Western food such as pasta and roasted chicken.

After we have made our order, we look at the surrounding and it seems to be a great idea to open a restaurant here since a lot of people do enjoy the comfort of dining with the view.

I ordered Roasted Chicken which comes with fries, bread and few pieces of vegetables. Despite its humble look, the roasted chicken taste so good as the chicken is well seasoned before roasted. Subsequent to our visit to Lavender Cottage, our driver told us the the most popular food from Lavender Cottage turns out to be this Roasted Chicken.

My travelling buddy miss the comfort of Singapore food so she ordered a bowl of seafood pasta in laksa sauce. The amount of prawns provided in the pasta are so generous and she totally enjoyed her meal.

Once you are done wandering around Lavender Cottage, don't forget to pop by the souvenir store because if you don't plan to eat here, you can use your voucher to offset your buying in the store. The souvenir store has some interesting stuff which you can only find here such as DIY aromatherapy and soap using lavender as its main ingredient.

If you are into wooden crafts, you can find them here too. There is various type of wooden art pieces such as key chains, desk decoration up to kitchen utensils.

These handmade soaps are so pretty and colourful. Each color has different fragrance and I think they will make a great gift for ladies. There is an array of fragrance pouch and liquid soap/ shampoo too in the store so do take your time to check out these amazing items from Lavender Cottage.

Sometimes in life, we got too focused on complex stuff we forget to pay attention and enjoy the most important parts of our life. The most important parts of our life tend to be the smallest matters which we often neglect like sweet memories for the time spent with your loved ones. I suppose it's best to take no thought of tomorrow for tomorrow shall take thought of the things itself. Live in the present now! Woots!

Anyway, continuing on our journey at Lavender Cottage in Taichung. If you have been to Taiwan, you will notice that there are many places of interest which allow visitor to either write a wish/ get a stamp. A lot of travellers love to make a wish and get a stamp to complete their travel log. So it's quite fun to find that there's a wish section at Lavender Cottage as well.

I do not really take this make-a-wish activity really seriously but it is just fun to do it while you are travelling since a lot of other people's doing it too. #easilyfollowsuggestion

Made a simple and very generic wish. But seriously, looking at how the world becomes, happiness has become more and more important if you want to endure this life. Wishing everyone a happy life (idealistic wish I know but oh well, I can wish, right?).

You can choose to hang your wish either at the tree. My travelling buddy commented that why I look so serious when tying up my wish. The thing is...I am never good with all activities that involve crafts. Especially hand crafts. Hahahah.

If you do not want to hang your wish on the trees, you can hang them at the designated wishing area as well. There are so many wishes hanged here I wonder how do the staff of Lavender Cottage manage to keep them in control. Like how often do they throw out wishes? Hahahah.

After we are done making wishes, we decided to just sit around and chill for a while since the view from the uphill is so awesome and give you peace which you will not be able to get in the city.

"Whatcha gonna do when the walls come falling down?"

Happy Saturday folks! It definitely feels so wonderful when we reach another Saturday (because weekdays are so tough to go through sometimes). The thing is sometimes I don't really know what to do in Singapore on a Saturday other than hanging out with my friends trying out new places and stuff. New places to eat of course because there are not many places for sightseeing in Singapore as the country is pretty small. I even wonder if I should just live frugally in Singapore to have bigger travelling expenses.

With bigger travellling expenses, one can visit other countries to go sightseeing. Just like visiting Lavender Cottage in Taichung, Taiwan.

10D9N Taiwan Trip: Lavender Village, Taichung Part 1

A lot of travel blogs suggested to visit Lavender Cottage when the travel itinerary involves Taichung. This is because there are actually not many things to do in Taichung city itself (apart from visiting cafes and the famous Fengjia Night Market). So two hours trip to Lavender Cottage seems to be a wise thing to do during the day (since the night market will be deserted at this timing anyway).

We reached Lavender Cottage around lunch time. The admission ticket to Lavender Cottage cost NTD 100 per person inclusive of NT100 vouchers which can be used to offset your purchase for souvenirs/ food and beverages inside Lavender Cottage. The chubby bear (which probably mascot of Lavender Cottage?) looks so lonely at the entrance of Lavender Cottage.

Be prepared to walk uphill in order to reach the lavender fields. I got pretty tired halfway (lack of exercise?) so I took a rest at the bear house which kinda reminds me of Hobbit's house in the Lord of the Rings movie. Am I transported to New Zealand somehow?

Few steps ahead, you will see so many small houses. Initially I thought these are bird houses but then I am not quite sure how the bird is going to get inside these houses.

After a few gasping of air, we have finally see beautiful purple glimpse of lavender at the left side of the road. We were pretty blessed to be able to see the lavender when the flowers were blooming. Otherwise, our uphill battle would be such a waste. Hahaha.

Spotted one busy bee which was moving efficiently from one flower to another. That was one pretty huge bee. Since the complex of Lavender Cottage is pretty big to cover in one post, I will post the remaining stories on Lavender Cottage in the next few posts.
