Singapore Cafe: Truffle Cake at Laurent Cafe & Chocolate Bar, Robertson Quay

The thing about Saturday is...it took 5 days of working to reach Saturday and yet, it fleets so fast. Up to the point that we don't feel like going home early every Saturday to cherish the day to the last hour. And with that particular mindset, we continued our culinary journey from eating pizza at Bella Pizza to a dessert time at Laurent Cafe & Chocolate Bar.

Laurent Cafe & Chocolate Bar serves chocolate from Laurent Bernard which originates in France. That night, Y and I decided to share the calorie of a truffle cake.

Truffle cake served at Laurent Cafe & Chocolate Bar is quite unique because it consists of three layers of different kind of chocolates with raspberry filling.

Singapore Eats: White Pizza and White Pasta at Bella Pizza, Robertson Quay

Being unable to spend the weekend out-of-town often (unless you are out-of-country) in Singapore, weekends seem to be everyone's time to go for a foodie adventure. Orchard tends to be the most favourite area amongst both locals and visitors for a foodie adventure but sometimes, my friend and I like to venture kinda out-of-the-way too in order to pamper our tummy. This round, we came to Robertson Quay for an evening walk and pasta/pizza adventure at Bella Pizza.

Bella Pizza is located near the Singapore river, so if you managed to secure the table near the path, you can see the bridge and the river while enjoying the meal.

Bella Pizza offers two type of pizza, Red and White (talk about being nationalist...lol). To sum up the difference, red pizzas refer to those tomato-based pizza e.g. margherita. On the other hand, the white pizzas refer to those mozzarella-based pizza. We ordered an item from the white pizzas list, Pizza Mascarpone which is described as pizza with mozzarella, mascarpone, mushrooms and black truffle oil. The pasta looks crispy but it was so difficult to cut the pizza dough. Kinda a bummer as the topping is actually pretty tasty.

The pizza is best consumed with the condiments like chili flakes or if you are a cheese lover, extra cheese would not hurt. =P

Besides the pizza, we also ordered a plate of Carbonara to share amongst the two of us. The pasta taste so-so.

Singapore Travel: A romantic evening stroll at Robertson Quay

Being known as the most laidback quays along the Singapore does make Robertson Quay famous amongst expats in Singapore. And despite the lack of money to support our expat-lifestyle, we visited Robertson Quay, simply fueled by our curiosity. XD

Okay, one glance at this posh area makes me wish I live here. This area looks so European. Oh, if you are wondering, the pink building is a serviced apartment called Fraser Place Robertson Walk.

Do you see the clock tower? Okay, it ain't Prague Clock Tower but I guess it's European enough, no?

There's even a bridge with some kind of retro road lamp.

You can definitely considering Robertson Quay as your dating place. A romantic evening stroll here, anyone?
