Macau Travel: Ruins of St Paul's

Originally a church built in the 1600s, the Ruins of St Paul's is basically what's left after fire destroyed the church back in 1800s.

Closer look at the Ruins of St Paul's.

Behind the ruins. You can climb up the structure and see the view of Macau city from the ruins' window.

From the ruins of the church you can see a...casino. This sounds very contradicting indeed. Hahaha.

There is no entrance fee to see Ruins of St Paul's and the ruins is located within walking distance from Senado Square.

Macau Travel: Monte Fort

Historically built as Portuguese military centre in Macau, Monte Fort still stands until today and it has become part of UNESCO World Heritage of Macau. We need to further climb the hill to be able to see the whole fort which has become a museum now. So for now, we can only see the wall of the fort. XD

It's really tiring to climb under the hot weather but finally, we made it to Monte Fort which is now also known as Museu de Macau.

To show that this place is really used to be a fort, the cannons are still well-maintained here.

From the top of the hill, you can also see the panoramic view of Macau. Without really setting on the cannons, of course. =P

Monte Fort is located at the hill on the right side of the Ruins of St Paul's. You can follow the sign and climb the hill to reach the fort on the top of the hill.

Macau Travel: Senado Square

Senado Square is a paved town square in Macau. It is also the usual starting point for tourists who want to visit the Ruins of St Paul's.

You don't have to worry about getting lost in Senado Square. There are helpful signs everywhere for tourists.

How to reach Senado Square? - We took cab from the airport straight away to Senado Square. Every cab drivers in Macau should know where is Senado Square.

What's so special about Senado Square? - Other than the above mentioned interesting places, Senado Square is also part of the UNESCO Historic Centre of Macau World Heritage Site. The ruins of St Paul's, the yummy egg tarts and Monte Fort is located within walking distance from Senado Square.
