Taiwan Eats: Instant Cereal, 7-11

Okay I never think a cereal can be sold in a more ready-to-eat way than what they are currently it. I mean cereal is usually sold in a box and what you need to do is simple enough as it is, right? Open the box, pour the cereal into the bowl, take the milk from the fridge and pour the milk to the bowl. But oh boy 7-11 managed to make it even possible to eat cereal without actually using the bowl, and hence, no dish-washing required! Yeay!

A superb packaging enable us to eat cereal without the need of utensils too (there's a folded small spoon on the top of the milk cup). And it tastes good. Yum!

And just like that, my love to Taiwanese convenience store is getting stronger and stronger. =P

Taipei Eats: Having breakfast at Shida Road

Walking along Shida road everyday makes me passing by this breakfast stall who seems to be manned by a husband and wife couple. Every morning the wife is always ready behind the frying station while the hubby is ready to make your coffee or tea order.

Their full menu. They sell egg crepes, sandwiches, burger and pasta. The prices are really student-friendly.

If you are not sure about the menu, you can refer to the picture menu instead.

They also have seasonal item occasionally. Like this fried chicken burger.

And a bottle of chilled soya milk.

The stall is open only shortly after 1pm. What a good business eh? But they open everyday though unless they are on holiday or there's typhoon in town. =P

Taiwan Eats: A typical breakfast in Taiwan

I love eating breakfast in Taiwan. Most of my breakfast in Singapore nowadays consist only bread. But for nearly same price, you can get a breakfast combo in Taiwan consist of...

1. A glass of milk tea

A choice of either..

2. Fried egg and sausages

or..

3. Spaghetti

Btw, do you know the Chinese name of Spaghetti Bolognaise? It's actually quite easy to memorise, 肉醬義大利面 (ròu jiàng Yìdà lì miàn). 肉醬 is literally translated to meat sauce. And I kinda like the Taiwanese version of Bolognaise. It has the homey feeling in a Taiwanese way. I suppose it's because we didn't eat this at some kind of a luxury restaurant. We had these meals at hole-in-the-wall kind of breakfast place. Which makes it kinda home-ish? Hehehe.

The combination of milk tea + fried egg/ sausages costs around 50-55 NTD while the combination of milk tea + spaghetti costs around 70NTD. Cheap eh? =)
