So what are the bounties of our food hunt? First is Assam Laksa, which is a popular dish from Penang. Different from how laksa is usually cooked in Singapore, Assam laksa is made sour. In addition, shredded fish is used for its soup base. I am used to the taste of curry laksa so the sour taste from this Assam laksa does not really suit my tastebud. 

Next in our menu is a claypot from Huan Kee Claypot Rice. Chinese sausage and chicken claypot to be exact. I thought this dish is originated from Hong Kong instead of Malaysia but I suppose who does not like claypot. Hehe.

The next dish is quite unique because it is actually a rendition of Hokkien Mee (re: noodle). It's just the noodle is so dark because of the use of I-dunno-how-much dark soya sauce. This dish is called KL Jalan Alor Hokkien Mee. The ownder of the restaurant in KL said that the trick to master this dish is by reaching the balance between the salty flavour from light soya sauce and the sweetness from dark soya sauce. As for cooking noob like me, let's just go here and order a plate of the black noodles.

Last but not least, we also ordered peanut and cheese crepe as desserts. Taste so so. Better consumed while they are hot.

The concept of Malaysian Food Street is for customer to be able to relive the experience of visiting a food street in Malaysia without having to actually fly there. To make the experience even more real, there is a road sign and a rickshaw which is usually used in Malaysia (I guess?).

The stall is also designed in a way that it looks like shophouses inside a building. Let's call it indoor shophouses. #lamecreativity

Expect a lot of people every weekend here. Tourists and locals alike.

Crane Dance show tells us story about the magical love of two mechanical birds for each other. The show involves a lot of special lighting, water play and music. 

The love that the mechanical birds show for each other eventually turn them into real birds. 

Two happy birds fly towards each other. 

At the end of the show, the screens at the middle of the two mechanical birds show beautiful fireworks.

The fireworks then transform into a lovely waterplay while the two mechanical birds are making a descend. The show ends after 10 minutes.

Hard Rock Hotel is located at Waterfront Station, which is the busiest station in Resorts World at Sentosa because it is the station to go to when you want to visit the Universal Studios, the casino, Insadong Korea Town, the Maritime Experiential Museum, S.E.A. Aquarium and Adventure Cove Waterpark. However, despite the bustling tourists going to and fro Waterfront Station, Hard Rock Hotel can be considered quiet because it's located at one of the corner I suppose. We can't really hear a lot of noises from the pool areas.

The pool seems to be quite an attractive place for the hotel dwellers to be on a Saturday afternoon. Especially since the weather was not that hot. 

Room-wise, I can't really share much because I have never stayed in Hard Rock Hotel. I always prefer to stay near Orchard area because it's easier for me to get to places from Orchard as compared from Sentosa. But from the website, Hard Rock Hotels design its room by giving it pop-culture vibe. For instance, purple is the theme of the room and there are a lot of iconic paintings hanged in the room. 

Rate-wise, I don't think Hard Rock Hotel commands the highest room rate in Sentosa Island. But the room rate should be at least around S$300 I'm guessing. For more accurate pricing and offer, you can check the rate on the Tripadvisor button above. 

Sentosa Boardwalk links VivoCity shopping mall's waterfront promenade to Waterfront Station in Sentosa. The walk is not difficult because there are two-way canopy-covered travellators along the route. 

If you really want to walk to burn your calories, you can opt not to use the travellator and walk on the pathway beside it. 

The pathway is lit up at night. It's quite enjoyable to walk along Sentosa Boardwalk at night because of the lighting decorations. 

Sentosa Boardwalk opens 24 hours daily however, do note that the travellators are only working from 7am to 12am daily.

My next plate is somewhat "colder" because I took most of the food offered in the salad and sashimi station. The unique dish served here is the parma ham served on rock melon. Yum! 

Right, there were a miscommunication about the buffet timing when my friend made the reservation. Hence, when we arrived, we only have less than 30 minutes to take food and eat before they close the buffet section. Bewildered, we tried to negotiate with the frontline staff in charge, which happened to be the Assistant Manager. But this guy is really rude oh my gawd, he didn't even care that we were there to celebrate my friend's birthday. We tried to negotiate in every way possible from extending the lunch buffet hour or give us a bit of discount but this guy rudely dismiss us and blame us. Hello, we are not the one who mistakenly inform customers about the buffet timing. My friend nearly cancelled the whole thing but the restaurant manager settled the situation by extending the buffet hour especially for us and even better, he made all serving staff to prepare cake and sang "Happy Birthday" to my friend. Finally, a real service. 

To our amusement, we never see that Assistant Manager until we finished our meal. We guessed the Manager asked him not to show himself until we are done. He deserves it. Geez.

The thing is, after this kind of experience, I really feel reluctant to come back to Starz Restaurant. The food is on the okay side but it's nothing fantastic (except for the parma ham on rock melon I guess). Service does matter! Well, maybe that Assistant Manager has since left the restaurant since this happened like..4 years ago. Hahaha. #notforgotten
