Martyr Shrine, Taipei
If you did not manage to catch the guard changing ceremony at Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, there's another place for you to watch the ceremony. Here, at Martyr Shrine.
The shrine was built to honor soldiers who fell during the War of Resistance against Japan and Chinese Civil War.
Every tourists come here with one objective, to watch the guard changing ceremony. It is held every one hour.
Since there are a lot of space, you can just stand anywhere apart from the middle of the path to the entrance gate, of course, to see the performance. Always amazed by the synchronisation showed by the soldiers.
Salute!
If you are patient enough to wait until the new guards are stationed in position, you can take picture with them. They will be still no matter what weird position you are doing in front of them. Hahaha.
