Singapore Eats: Black Forest of Gastronomia Da Paolo, Pasar Bella

My friend actually tried the dessert series from Gastronomia Da Paolo before so she told us to give one of their dessert a try while we saw Gastronomia's stand at Pasar Bella.

We shared the black forest together after a round of hot dog from Huber's Deli, meatball pasta, and macarons from Bonheur Patisserie. Oh boy, we ate a lot.

And don't forget the banana beer. Great, gym is definitely calling us after this meal.

Singapore Eats: Hot Dog and Meatball Pasta at Pasar Bella, The Grandstand

After hopping from one food stall to another in Pasar Bella, we finally decided to take a break with a lot of food in tow to the eating area at level 2.

We managed to take away a few items from our adventure at level 1. For instance, there is this deli named Huber's Deli which gives us a warning on its hot dog box.

Huber's Deli is actually part of Huber's Butchery which sells premium meats online (re: online butchery). But since I was or am never a chef, the fact that online butchery exists kinda slips my mind. Anyway, Huber's Deli in Pasar Bella sells hot dog with yummy-looking-sausage. This hot dog has fried shallots as toppings, oh-my-gawd, I am sold.

Other than the hot dog, we also bought meatball cheesy tomato spaghetti. Taste good too. I love the mixture of the meatballs, cheese and tomatoes.

Singapore Eats: Exotic Beer at PasarBella, The Grandstand

After passing through the meat and the dessert section of the market, our adventure is getting more and more interesting.

Other than food, there is a section selling kitchen tools and wine. And looks where the arrow is pointing...

...to my favourite word, BEER. I kinda feel like Homer Simpson now. XD

Huh? You are not that into alcohol? Why??? Okay okay, if you are not that enthusiastic about beer, there is a non-alcoholic section too for you, tea-lover. Don't tell me you don't drink tea too.

Singapore Eats: Bonheur Patisserie, PasarBella The Grandstand

Our adventure in PasarBella continues and we have arrived at the dessert section of the market. You can find Bonheur Patisserie, which seems to be famous for its macarons, at the dessert section.

Bonheur Patisserie sells not only macarons but a lot of other type of cakes too. From the display, it seems that Bonheur Patisserie offers a lot of sponge cakes.

Bonheur Patisseries have a various kind of macarons. A lot of the flavors cannot be found somewhere else just like this sakura and peppermint milk chocolate.

The color of this particular macaron attracted me so I decided to purchase this Passion White Ganache macaron. Taste quite good. But I am quite a sweet-eater so macarons can probably be too sweet for some people.

Singapore Eats: Pasta and Paella at PasarBella, The Grandstand Bukit Timah

Straight after our visit to fish and meat market section, we arrived at the middle section of PasarBella at the Grandstand, the Spice Section.

I was kinda expecting spice market like what I saw in Dubai before but I suppose I don't think there are a lot of people who really like to cook from scratch in Singapore so selling ready-to-eat pasta will be more practical here. For goodness cake, my rent term even comes with no-cooking clause. U_U.

Now, this is one big knuckle. We were pretty shocked when we saw the size. Hahaha. Too shocked to try (well, the price is rather shocking too). =P

Few metres ahead, we saw an interesting big pan of yellow gooey looking thing. Lured by curiosity, we came closer to it.

This big pan is used to cook paella. A very big portion of paella. Kinda makes me want to go to Spain for my next holiday. The paella that I tried locally in Singapore does not really impress me. Although I am not really sure how the original paella in Spain tastes.

Singapore Eats: Foodie Adventure at PasarBella, The Grandstand Bukit Timah

This random adventure on a Saturday afternoon was officially the farthest I've ever ventured in Singapore to eat (I am a lazy foodie). Bukit Timah is not really my favourite place to visit because it is not easy to reach Bukit Timah without driving a car. There are shuttle buses provided by PasarBella from 3 MRT stations i.e. Clementi, Botanic Gardens and Toa Payoh MRT Stations (schedule here). After taking shuttle bus from Clementi MRT Station, we reached Pasarbella after 20 minutes-ish ride. Welcome to the Grandstand.

PasarBella is basically a high-up "market". This is where you can find all kind of freshest products (which you probably cannot find at normal supermarket). Any grunt or trout, peeps?

When you came in, you will be welcomed immediately by the smell of the fishes. This is because fish market is located at the most front part of PasarBella. If you don't cook, you can make request for your choice-of-seafood to be cooked immediately on the spot.

You can enjoy your cooked fish here at the seating area after the chefs are done with the cooking. We were not really in the mood for fishy affair that day so...moving on.

The next area that we ventured on is the Beef Market. There is a guide on the board on several terms for steaks.

Similar to the Fish Market, you can find all things from raw to cooked meat in the Beef Market section.

This is the raw meat section. I did not really pay any attention in particular because...well...the landlord in my rented property does not allow cooking. So yeah...the meat looks juicy though. #lookonly

PasarBella is really big so if you really want to take your time looking around, you need to spend probably half a day.
