Singapore Travel: One Saturday afternoon at Duxton Hill, Tanjong Pagar

Duxton Hill is actually really a small hill located in Tanjong Pagar neighborhood. It is also a part of Tanjong Pagar Conservation Area. If you have houses in this area, you should rejoice because the house price nowadays in Duxton Hill is skyrocketing (compared to when you bought the house of course). And behind me lies the most expensive HDB ever in Singapore, Pinnacle. You need at least S$1,000 per month to rent a common room at Pinnacle. Crazy.

A nice wall mural sighted along the way. This kinda reminded me of the wall mural that I saw in Central Hong Kong.

The wall mural continues under the sale sign. Great, the mood to admire the wall mural kinda diminished when I see the sale sign. But, people have to make a living I guess (by selling the place?). Haha.

A row of shophouses which are preserved in this area. Everything looks neat in Singapore. =P

We took a rest at one of the nearby cafe along the shophouses before giving the lovely sunflower to the birthday girl. The whole area is pretty serene, I love it. =)

Singapore Eats: Too Busy Enjoying Food at Supply and Demand, Orchard Gateway

Orchard Gateway is not as crowded as its neighbour, 313 Somerset. This makes Orchard Gateway a perfect spot to have catch-up dinner with some friends. Our venue for catch-up dinner tonight has a library or book-store kind of setting with a lot of books stacked up near the table for decoration. Well as far as I look, none of the customers are reading the books. =P

Supply and Demand offers Western food such as pasta and pizza. We order Carbonara for the pasta (because we love creamy stuff).

We also ordered a pizza named The Morning After. The egg in the middle of the pizza is probably the inspiration for the name. The morning after the egg is cracked and cooked, maybe? #totallynocreativebone

Singapore Eats: White Pizza and White Pasta at Bella Pizza, Robertson Quay

Being unable to spend the weekend out-of-town often (unless you are out-of-country) in Singapore, weekends seem to be everyone's time to go for a foodie adventure. Orchard tends to be the most favourite area amongst both locals and visitors for a foodie adventure but sometimes, my friend and I like to venture kinda out-of-the-way too in order to pamper our tummy. This round, we came to Robertson Quay for an evening walk and pasta/pizza adventure at Bella Pizza.

Bella Pizza is located near the Singapore river, so if you managed to secure the table near the path, you can see the bridge and the river while enjoying the meal.

Bella Pizza offers two type of pizza, Red and White (talk about being nationalist...lol). To sum up the difference, red pizzas refer to those tomato-based pizza e.g. margherita. On the other hand, the white pizzas refer to those mozzarella-based pizza. We ordered an item from the white pizzas list, Pizza Mascarpone which is described as pizza with mozzarella, mascarpone, mushrooms and black truffle oil. The pasta looks crispy but it was so difficult to cut the pizza dough. Kinda a bummer as the topping is actually pretty tasty.

The pizza is best consumed with the condiments like chili flakes or if you are a cheese lover, extra cheese would not hurt. =P

Besides the pizza, we also ordered a plate of Carbonara to share amongst the two of us. The pasta taste so-so.
