Sea of flowers at Xinshe Castle, Taichung
Xinshe Castle is one of the tourist attractions available in Taichung, the third biggest city in Taiwan. Xinshe Castle is located in the outskirt of Taichung. Before you can reach the castle, you must walk through a big garden. The design of both Xinshe castle and its garden are inspired by European castle.
The surrounding of Xinshe Castle is huge. There is even a lake inside the castle complex. Most of the visitors to Xinshe Castle are tourists. Some Taiwanese which I know told me that Xinshe Castle is kinda overpriced but oh well, since I come here as a tourist so here we go. Haha.
We visited Xinshe Castle on a spring day and wow, there is really a sea of flowers at Xinshe Castle. I The pink and red flowers make the garden looks sweet and romantic.
After a short walk at the garden, we have finally reached the castle ground. Xinshe Castle is actually man-made and of course its age is considered young compared to its inspiration in Europe. Those castles in Europe aged for more than a hundred years. Even though Xinshe Castle can be called an imitation, it is good enough to take your kids to walk around, or to have a cup of coffee with your lover or friends (yes, there is a cafe here), or to simply snap some pictures here.
As I said before, the castle ground is pretty huge. So I did not really suggest you to visit Xinshe Castle unless you have an ample time (e.g. this is not your first time visit to Taichung and you simply have nowhere else to go).
There is an entrance fee of NTD250. Xinshe Castle opens everyday. It opens from 9AM to 6PM on a weekdays and from 8AM to 6PM on weekends.
How to go to Xinshe Castle?
The best way to reach Xinshe Castle is by taking a cab because it is located kinda out of the way.
