Hong Kong Travel: Disney in The Stars Fireworks, Hong Kong Disneyland

We have finally come at the last post on Hong Kong Disneyland (was it too long? Oops). If you are staying in Hong Kong Disneyland long enough, at least until 9pm, you will be able to catch the fireworks show called Disney in The Stars.

When the clock hits 8.30pm, you can start securing your place at the main area opposite the Sleeping Beauty Castle. The castle will be lit up around that timing to prepare for the show. Disney in The Stars fireworks is basically a combination of fireworks and lights show which are accented by a medley of memorable Disney songs. This part is performed during the war song from Mulan.

The last song is the best from all of them, which happen to be my favourite Disney song, A Whole New World. Aladdin was the first Disney movie which I watched in the cinema too. I miss those time. =)

The whole firework shows last for 12 minutes. It was worth the wait and you will really feel the happiness, no matter how old you are.

Hong Kong Travel: What to do while waiting for the fireworks in Hong Kong Disneyland?

Most rides at Hong Kong Disneyland close around 6 - 7pm. Hence, there will be 2 to 3 hours time of waiting before the fireworks starts at 9pm. Oh no, what are we supposed to do?

Well, thankfully, there are a lot of activities that we can do while waiting for the fireworks. For instance, let's not forget our dinner. The problem is, most restaurants will be fully packed by this timing because everyone else do the same. So, we ended up eating the street food in Disneyland version. Here is the Mickey Mouse pancake. The chocolate sauce makes it looks kinda scary to be honest. Hahaha.

After we had our meal, we walked across to the main Disney store over at the Main Street USA to browse some Disney item. This doll house is really my childhood dream. I still remember how my parent tricked me "Okay dear, we can buy you the house but you must wait another time for us to buy the dolls." In the end, I got an empty house. Oh well, I can always play with my "imaginary dolls" I guess. #thatsoundscreepyenough

If I have my own room, I will probably build my own personal Disney corner. Oh well, let's work hard to get our own house peeps. XD

Hong Kong Travel: Disney Characters' Meet and Greet

If you are a fan of Disney's characters, you will probably go head over heels to take pictures with them. The longest queue when we visited Hong Kong Disneyland is not a queue for a ride. It is, in fact, a queue to take picture with Mickey and Minnie Mouse as a pair. Wow. Mickey and Minnie come quite early in the morning. I think it's around the park opening time. So if you want to catch them early, you can start running for the queue when the park opens.

As for us, we started our meet and greet tour in the afternoon around 5 or 6PM-ish when we had no more rides to try. We managed to take pictures with Winnie the Pooh.

My friend who visited Hong Kong Disneyland this year told me that you can take picture with Anna and Elsa from Frozen too. But be prepared to queue for a while as a lot of little girls are sharing the same interest with you. Hahaha.

I have to admit, Anna and Elsa are still the most popular Disney icons since December.

Hong Kong Travel: It's a Small World After All at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort

I don't know if I'm weird but my favorite ride at Hong Kong Disneyland is the doll-watching ride called It's A Small World. And the thing is, all Disneyland around the world has this ride. So there must be a reason for this ride, right?

It is basically an indoor boat cruise attraction. So all you need to do is sit on the boat and enjoy the view and the song as your boat is carried on a journey around the world.

Walt Disney himself named this ride "the happiest cruise that ever sailed". I kinda got the feeling too when I rode this attraction.

During the ride, you can see children doll (not in a horror way I'm grateful for it) moving and dancing to the background songs, depend on which country they are from. This is really clever concept as whoever ride this attraction, no matter where they come from, will feel so welcomed here.

The main OST called "It's A Small World" is the only song which never copyrighted by Disney. So that the world can just use the song anywhere. This request has been personally made by UNICEF.

If there's a Disneyland in Singapore, I suppose I will just go there whenever I feel sad. After all, it is the happiest cruise that ever sailed around the world. =)

Hong Kong Travel: The Golden Mickeys Show at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort

My favourite show at Hong Kong Disneyland is gotta be the Golden Mickeys Show. It is held at Storybook Theater and it has a lot of showtimes. However, long queue is expected for this show especially in the evening times when visitors are looking for a place to sit back and relax after a day of playing.

The show is basically about an academy award for Disney characters. There are a lot of different categories with each own rightful winner. The show is of course, opened by the beloved hosts Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

The shows last quite awhile, at least 30 minutes time. But it's worth the time. You can see a lot of Disney characters dancing on the stage. Like Jessie from Toy Story.

Tarzan is really swirling around on the stage. Whoever playing Tarzan must possess a certain degree of acrobatic skill. Haha.

The show is ended with a dnace performance by all Disney characters like the Princesses, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy wearing gold costumes. There's always a reason of why the show is after all, called, the Golden Mickeys Show.

Hong Kong Travel: Covering Hong Kong Disneyland in One Day Guide [Part 6]

When the heat has become unbearable, it's time to look for an indoor attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland resort. This time, we saw a queue line at Mickey's PhilharMagic which means the 3D show is about to start anytime soon. You will be given a pair of 3D glasses to watch Disney characters dancing and singing in 3D. This attraction is quite fun for both adults and kids.

Right outside the theatre, there is a fun-looking souvenir store. To be honest with you, all souvenir stores inside Disneyland is really a trap for your wallet because the merchandises sold are so cute, you can't help buying something. Unless you have a really steel-power of resistance. XD

This is the place to buy for the Disneyland's snow globe.

All Disney characters have their own keychains. In different costumes too.

It also has cute plush toys like this Donald Duck who can grab your finger. I suppose he will be a cute decoration to your pen or pencil. XD

Hong Kong Travel: Feeling Hollywood vibe at Hong Kong Disneyland

Not like those kids nowadays, my first visit to Disneyland happened not when I was still sitting on elementary school bench. It was quite late but oh well at least I managed to do it in my 20s. Anyway, you are never too old for a Disney magic in your life. This kinda explains why I'm feeling so excited when I just entered my first Disneyland in Hong Kong. Disney train station omg, I've never seen this before. #pardonme

I'm so ready to enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy. And definitely no paperwork to do here. I'll do that everytime (everytime I have the chance, I guess). XD

This is the main street USA which is the first area in Disneyland Hong Kong which you will step into after the ticketing area. The area is filled with restaurants, bakeries, souvenir stores and photo store (where you can see and buy any pictures taken by Disneyland staff inside the park).

There's also a cinema here but we did not really see if it's really a cinema or a store. We were too busy looting the Disney store beside the cinema.

All kinds of balloon are sold here. Kinda tempted to buy one but it will be a chore to bring balloon when you want to ride something here.

At the end of the main street, you will be welcomed by the fantastic view of the Sleeping Beauty Castle and Sorcerer Mickey.

Hong Kong Travel: The Flights of the Fantasy Parade at Hong Kong Disneyland

When the clock reaches 2.30pm, it's time for you to make your way to Main Street area. This is because the famous afternoon Disney parade in Hong Kong Disneyland, Flights of Fantasy will be held here at 3pm. Well, at least the crowd in Hong Kong Disneyland is not that bad. Oh boy, look at how lonely that rubbish bin is.

10 minutes later, the situation has completely changed. People has started securing the place to watch the parade now. A lot of umbrellas are shown in the picture not because it was raining that day. It was so freaking hot up to the point all the UV protected umbrellas were all opened. XD

The crowd is cheering for Mickey when the parade starts. The flying Dumbo is the act opener for the Flights of Fantasy parade.

From afar, we could notice that Mickey is making his way slowly to our direction. The parade actually lasts for quite a while, around 35 minutes. It's started from Disney Storybook Theatre toward the Sleeping Beauty Castle roundabout and continued on to the Main Street USA view area.

The parade is actually pretty amazing because each cart is decorated according to the theme of whoever's riding the cart. For instance, here is the Disney princesses swan carriage.

All the fairies were coming up next to make way for Tinkerbell's carriage.

I like the decoration of carriage from Toy Story the most. Because you can see the Green Army Men keep jumping up and down. So creative! (and exhausting maybe, for whoever acts as these toy soldiers.)

You should not miss the parade because it's really filled with music, dancing and fun entertainment.

After refilling ourselves over at the Royal Banquet Hall, we wandered and stumbled our way upon this friendly little bear and his friends. A lot of wanderers were quite interested in this particular world too. In other words, be prepared to queue, fellow wanderers. XD

Thankfully, there are a lot of pictures and quotes painted at the wall surrounding the queue line, so we were not that bored after all. If only they provide free honey here...

One hour later, it's finally our turn to ride the honey jar. Woot!

The ride was quite fun. Basically, we were brought into Winnie the Pooh's world, Hundred Acre Wood while sitting inside the honey jar cart. Even though this ride is catered more towards the younger kids, we still enjoyed it at the age of 25 years old. LOL.

Right after alighting from the cart, you will come out at the souvenir store. And being Winnie the Pooh ride, there are a lot of cute souvenirs here. Piglet and Tigger keychains anyone?
