Wandering Fel

Just behind the sign, you'll see a tower which is called Lover's Tower. If you are thinking of riding the tower, I suggested you to go have lunch first (if you haven't had any, of course) at the next-door plaza called..

For a second, I thought I was back in Singapore. Hahaha. 

The prices for the lunch here is kinda too much! But I was hungry like mad so I proceeded to order the beef noodle set meal which comes with a cup of cold milk tea and side dishes (300NTD goodness me). The purchase of a set meal however will give you a free ticket to ride the tower (hooray, save 100NTD!). Okay, I guess that's kinda consoling. Hahaha. 

With a full stomach, I'm ready to ride the tower now. Simply go to the building with the sign. 

And make your way up. Happy there's no queue that day. =)

The view of Fisherman's Wharf from the top is simply amazing. You must see! 

How to go to Fisherman's Wharf:

From Tamsui MRT Station, you can ride Red Bus no. 26 to Fisherman's Wharf (漁人碼頭/ Yú rén mǎtóu).

Despite the quirkiness of the museum, we did not really have time to pay a visit because of our limited time. If you are curious, you should go and let me know whether you can sample any free fishball inside. Hehe.

Oh did I tell you that temples are everywhere in Taiwan. There is one as well in Tamsui, it's called Fuyou Temple. 

Interesting details of the temple. 

A few steps from the temple, you will see a statue of Mackay. Why is there a statue of Caucasian and not Chinese man here in Tamsui, you ask me? To make it short, Mackay was the first missionary to visit Taiwan in 1871 and he has done so many good things to the neighbourhood (e.g. sharing the gospel, building church, building schools/ university, etc) so that the neighbourhood is now honouring him. We went in March but it seems that it's forever Christmas in Tamsui? Haha. Anyway, if you come across this alley, make sure to make a right turn. 

Because there is a historical church called Tamsui Presbyterian Church at the end of the alley. 

The location of the above attractions are quite near to one another so I suppose you don't really need to take the bus from Tamsui MRT station if you want to visit there attractions. =)
