4D3N Poland Trip: Wilanow Palace Museum, Warsaw Part 2
"That I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairy tale."
A lot of my peers are actually excited about the currently shown remake of Beauty and the Beast. While Emma Watson is super pretty acting as the heroine, Belle, I'm not really excited for the movie somehow. Recently I am more into those realist movie whereby a happy ending does not mean that the main actor and actress get together at the end. Something like La La Land-ish? I suppose living in the world for a couple of years (#actyoung) make me believe that fairy tale may not exist for everybody. After all, no man will come riding on a white horse nowadays if you live in a big city right? =P
However, castles and palaces do exist and we are now continuing our journey inside one of them, the Wilanow Palace in Warsaw, Poland. After getting artsy inspired by a lot of wall mural, ceiling painting and statues, we are now in one of the very exciting rooms, especially for the ladies. It is the queen's bedroom. At the corner, you will see a big mirror. Apparently a custom-made celebrity mirror has been created back then and yes, that corner is the make up table for the Queen. Woman from all era do need a mirror.
The bed in red belongs to the Queen. Is it just me or the bed seems to be kinda short in length? Hmm.
The next room houses more and more expensive and intricate decoration from the past like the bronze plate.
More paintings, blue porcelain, and the King's royal attire. Looking at the attire, it seems that the King does not have a tall build too. Do people in those days is generally shorter? I mean, the current modern Polish people that I see on the streets are quite tall. Nutrition may play a part here.
I had to say I lost count to the number of paintings that I saw hanged on the wall. Seriously. King Jan Sobieski must have been a really really devoted art collector. You can see bible story from some of these paintings. Uhm, not the one at the right bottom corner definitely.
More statue busts. And what seems to be a quite old bowl from the Roman Empire. Is that a grand version of grandfather's clock standing at the corner of the room?
If Precious Thoughts have been around in that era, this is how they would look like. Maybe this collection belongs to the Queen instead of the King since they look more feminine but I may be wrong. It would not even surprise me if the King loves to collect these too.
Living room to entertain royal guests befitting of a monarch. Don't forget the bowl of fruits.
