I am so annoyed with a lot of people at work today. Actually I do realise that I get frustrated when work become overwhelmed but not as pissed as when I had to deal with annoying people. Sadly, a lot of these pests are available at my work. Hmmph. Oh well, I suppose I have to find a good way to keep my sanity while having to deal with them on a daily basis. Any idea, peeps?

 Anyway, someone from office suggested a new workout class named Cru Cycle. It's basically one of those fancy private cycling studios located along the posh Duxton Road. The studio was manned by beautiful looking people, I'm not kidding and I kinda feel out of place for a while when utilising my SGD 25 worth of trial class.

The best thing about having birthday pretty near to your friend's is that you can skip all the nitty gritty of picking place and treat because (a) you only celebrate with each other and (b) you can just pick one place for all. Since both I and the other birthday girl have been living off from food court's cuisine on the weekdays, we decided to splurge a bit by celebrating our birthday at a steakhouse, Bedrock Bar & Grill.

It is always a battle to find seats in any cafe in Orchard on a weekend afternoon. Sometimes I even try to avoid coming to Orchard on a weekend because the crowd level is really crazy. In times like this, I start to appreciate those hidden cafes which are not very visible from the outside just like the one named In Good Company. 

There were three little pigs living together in a house or at least that's how the story used to go by. But in the modern days, the three little pigs are so advanced in cooking and they have so much capital in the bank, they are able to open a restaurant right in the middle of Orchard road in Singapore. 

I seriously envy those people who keep going for staycation but at the same, don't feel like spending money on staycation in Singapore. Hahaha. Oh for you who don't know the concept of staycation, it's basically spending the night in the hotel which is located in the city where you are residing. A lot of people in Singapore loves this activity (especially those with small kids who are too small for travelling). This include my friend from high school who now has a one-year-old son. It happens that this week she's staycationing at the newest hip hotel on top of Orchard Gateway, Hotel Jen. No wonder, she can easily ask me out to meet her at Som Tam, which is located a stone away at the next-door Orchard Central (fyi, she seldom asks me out since giving birth, like ever!).

There is something about Orchard Road. Every tourists who come to Singapore will surely visit this stretch of road to do some shopping. There are several friends of mine who purposely waiting for great flight deals just to come to Singapore (fyi, Qatar Airways often have flight deals to Singapore) and do some shopping at Orchard Road. For us who are working in Singapore, Orchard Road also has some weird effect on us. Whenever we are meeting in Orchard Road, we don't feel like going home so early. Okay, either the effect can come either from Orchard Road or our house in Singapore. LOL.

Anyway, if you are looking for a place to have a nice chat when it is already 9PM in Orchard Road, you can visit The Providore at Mandarin Gallery as they close quit late (either 10 or 11PM if I'm not wrong). The Providore is a nice place to have a cup of coffee and a slice of cake.

Chocoholics will love this post because for a change, there is a cafe chains which specialize in chocolate opening all around Singapore called Cocoa Colony. I did not really know when exactly the craze starts but up-to-date, Cocoa Colony has a lot of branches all around Singapore. From the display, you can see that Cocoa Colony has so many things to offer other than chocolates. For instance, how about some cakes and those huge chocolate balls?

Overeasy occupies the space which is used to be occupied by Wendy's in Liat Tower. The place is frequently flooded whenever rainy season hits Singapore but let's hope that the drainage system has been improved so that Overeasy will not suffer the same ill-fate.

Anyway, since it has not rained that frequently nowadays, we figured that it is time to go to Overeasy, which seems to adopt American diner style, just like TGI Fridays. As how the rest of American diner goes, Overeasy offers a various type of burgers and sandwiches.




Overeasy has another location at Fullerton Hotel but the one located at Fullerton Hotel seems to be catered for fine dining instead of casual family diner. 

Sometimes when we are in Orchard, we really don't know what we are supposed to eat. I guess we are spoilt by choices but the choices...are kinda common because in Singapore, a lot of restaurants have branches at the other malls. So yeah, in summary, we are pretty bored by the choices available. And that's the reason why when a new restaurant opens, a snaking queue is always spotted at its entrance. #spoilt #firstworldproblem

Okay, let's go back to our adventure. When we were checking out the latest addition to Ngee Ann City (which is those area which is used to be owned by Kinokuniya), we spotted a new restaurant called Patties & Wiches. I initially mistook the word "Wiches" for "Witches" and was expecting some kind of Harry Potter's theme kind of food here. Hahaha.
