Taiwan Travel: What to do in Wulai?

Hello! Lately I have been posting all sorts of blog post about Wulai, up to the point that it was kinda messy to read, somehow? Apologise if that so. Well if you don't feel like reading the mumbo jumbo and want to jump straight to the summarised post...here you go! The shortcut. =P

1. Walk in the quiet mountainous neighbourhood (details here)

2. Eat local food (e.g. roast boar meat and traditional aboriginal cuisine)

5. Enjoy the amazing view of Wulai waterfall (see here)

Taiwan Travel: Waterfall of Wulai, New Taipei City

You can see the waterfall once you have alighted from the train. The water looks white-ish from a distance. We visited the waterfall back then in late April.

My camera lens cannot capture the whole length of the waterfall. So here is the bottom part of the waterfall.

The volume of the water is not a lot that day so we managed to see the rocks below the river. Okay, that's supposed to be a river when the waterfall is overflowing with water from the rains. XD

You can take the cable car ride for NTD220 (not sure if there is a change to the price) to bring you on the top of the mountain. But the cable car looks kinda unnerving from below so we, the cowardice, decided not to ride it. XD

Taiwan Travel: Wulai Scenic Train, New Taipei City

"The right train of thought can take you to a better station in life."

The scenic train in Wulai is designed for tourists to bring them from the cable car area to the deeper side of the mountain, where the tourists can see the waterfall (and more shops). Interested much? Let's make our way to the mini train station!

The train journey is actually quite short, probably around 5 minutes. You can see the scenery at the left side of the train. When it's reaching the station, the train will bring you behind the painted wall.

Oh, look! Here comes the train. Did I tell you the train is quite mini in size? Hahaha.

For your information, the train ride costs NTD50. I don't think you can see the waterfall without taking the train ride. Unless you take a cable car ride, I suppose.
