Indonesia Travel: Sade Village, Lombok

Oh gosh, I have been neglecting my blog for like a week? I'm really sorry for the lack of commitment (which is directly due to lack of proper internet connection back home). No excuse? Oops! =P

Anyway, I am back! And diving right into the next list on my Lombok trip (yeap, left with two posts to go..hehe). This time around, we are not gonna see beach and sea because it's time for a cultural visit to a local village in Lombok called Sade. Village is called "desa" in Bahasa Indonesian (fyi moment).

You know just like South Korea has its own hanok village, you can call Sade Village as the cultural villages preserved for cultural heritage and tourism industry in Lombok. In here, you can see the daily life of local people in their traditional Sasak houses.

Spotted a grandma weaving cloth. She has been weaving for dunno how many years and it seems like she enjoys it very much.

The villagers allow tourists to take a peek inside their houses. Here is the kitchen area.

Chickens are favourite choice for pets here. Probably for consumption purposes. Sorry, chicks! =P

Food storage. I suppose smoking should be prohibited here? One bit of fire and the whole thing will be burned to the ground, right?

The village is not really big so it took us less than one hour to finish the tour. If you are interested in buying local souvenirs (e.g. accessories and traditional clothes), you can buy it here but the price is kinda steeper compared to the ones sold alongside the road.
