"I don't need a telescope to see that there's hope and that makes me feel brave."

There is a famous English saying "when the going gets tough, the tough gets going". But to be honest with you, most of the times when the going gets tough I just feel like curling on my bed under the protection of a blanket. This is when I need to go listen to the words of God and one my favourite sermon to hear is from none other than the Senior Pastor of the church I'm currently attending. The words of God is the one thing that can keep me going in this life really. And that's how I encourage myself to go to work everyday and hence, the lunch time that come with it. Yeay!

This time, my fellow office-warrior (we had shared so many struggles together back when we worked together and now, when we are working at different office) meeting me at Bugis Junction to eat lunch at SIFU. SIFU provides Hong Kong dining scene with a twist. Most of their food focus on noodles and rice based dishes but I had to say the restaurant do offer some interesting twist especially to the noodles. The "twist" seems to be inspired by other countries like Japan and Taiwan.

I was in the mood for soup based dish so I ordered SIFU's Signature Roasted Chicken Thigh and Shrimp Dumpling Soup Noodle (SGD 10.80). I find this dish to be comforting. The noodle though is quite special because SIFU seems to use noodle which has the texture like vermicelli but more QQ. Okay, I don't really know how to describe that in layman term so I guess you just had to try them yourself. It got pretty messy when you try to eat chicken thigh in a soup so it's better if you ask for a small plate where you can put the chicken there. Less mess. #cleaneating

Back to the office, someone bought a cake from Cedele. It seems that you ain't gonna get slim after all working in my office. Fat-aside, I had never seen this type of cake from Cedele before. My colleague said it's a Chocolate Pistachio Cake. While I am a devoted fan of Cedele's carrot cake, I can vouch that this cake is not bad either.

Good meal seems to precede good day. The next morning, our team has received a thank you note for the big big boss. If only there's cash inside but nonetheless, thank you for the appreciation Boss. #dontsackus

I am officially hooked on Ed Sheeran's latest song, Shape of You. Although in real life, there's noone that I fall in love with their bodies. Sad reality I am living, no? But seriously speaking, there's really noone with that fantastic body in my office despite having work for nearly 7 years (take a mental note to cherish hot colleague when chancing upon him). Ahem.

Okayyy, let's wake myself up from this daydreaming and go for lunch instead. It has been a while since I met my ex-colleague and we finally had time to eat together for lunch. Yay!

Singapore Eats: Platypus Kitchen, Bugis Junction

I have always heard about Platypus Kitchen at Bugis Junction but never had the chance to eat their executive set lunch. While the meal selection offered for the executive set lunch is not bad, but it seems to me that a lot of dishes has additional charges. Uhh. I suppose you get what you can afford? XD

Since my lunch buddy has not reached Platypus Kitchen yet, I had a lot of time to ponder over what I'm about to have for lunch. The funny thing is sometimes once your lunch buddy has reached, you become too engrossed in catching up the talk with him/her up to the point both of you realised that noone has put order yet. I decided to order Chili Crab Linguini. The chili crab sauce comes off a bit too sweet for me and I prefer it to be more spicy. Otherwise, the pasta is not bad, decent enough. I only I don't have to add SGD 3 to my set meal. #cheapskate

Oh right, I forgot to say. Since that was an executive set lunch. Obviously the main comes with a selection of soup/ salad (I prefer pumpkin soup) and coffee/ tea (I chose earl grey lavender tea). After talking for so long until I realise I was about to get very late getting back to office, I found a nice surprise on my table. Aww.

It always feels romantic to receive flower bouquet notwithstanding the fact the bouquet was given by my BFF who happened to be a girl. Hahaha.

I really like going to Bugis Junction whenever I totally have no idea of what to have for dinner. When you want to do takeaways, the best idea is usually found in those places where there are a lot of street stalls. Although in Singapore, this country's version of street stalls may not exactly be located on the street. Which is better for all of us because Singapore has humid weather and it is way better to stroll along a comfortable air-conditioned mall while checking out the food stalls. And my last food hunting at the basement level of Bugis Junction led me to a kebab and burrito stall, Stuff'd.

My friend knew about this stall when I asked her review. She did not buy from the stall at Bugis Junction though. She told me that the kebab is not bad and I should give it a try rather than keep on eating the same thing. Since kebab seems to be the cheapest item on the menu, I happily went with her recommendation. #paydaystillfaraway

There are steps to go through when you are ordering Mexican food like kebab, quesadilla, burrito and veggie bowl. Thankfully, the steps are printed clearly on the glass cover.

They wrap the kebab nicely before giving it to the customer. It even has an inspirational quote printed on the sticker. Hmm talking about starting over...at this stage of my life, I should probably think about alternative way of doing something rather than starting it all over again. Oops, digress for a bit there. Pardon me. #blamethewrapper

The size of the kebab is quite big for a lady. But I really dislike the idea of wasting food and it would not be nice to keep the remains in the fridge and reheat (the veggie will not be fresh anymore) so my solution is to eat the whole thing and then, stop eating anything else for the whole night. XD

This is how the inside looks like. It taste pretty good. And it's very filling too.
