Singapore F1 GP: What to check before deciding to buy Singapore Formula 1 tickets?
Singapore has been holding the Formula 1 event for more than 5 years, but I have only watched one live back in 2014. #betterlatethannever
The F1 race for this year will be held in 18, 19 and 20 September 2015. If you are interested to watch, it may be a good idea to start checking the ticket now because of the early bird discount (book ticket prior to 30 April 2015 to qualify for early bird).
1. Go to Singapore F1 official's website (link)
2. Check out the entertainment list
The participants of the F1 race will be more or less the same every year. So what I'm referring to here is the entertainment line-up which changes every year. To make your research faster, I've found out the list for this year (except for the 20th Sept). Pharrell Williams and Maroon 5 to headline Padang stage on 18th and 19th September respectively, while Spandau Ballet to headline the Village Stage on 19th September (full details here).
3. Decide your objective
There are different ticket categories sold which is based on the access to certain areas. The more expensive tickets will give you access to most areas during the racing night. So if your budget is limited, you need to decide if the racing or the performance is more important to you.
For the complete list of categories sold by the Singapore F1 organiser, you can go to this link.
If you are an avid F1 fan, obviously the Sunday race will be the most important night to you. But bear in mind, if you only buy the Sunday ticket (i.e. 1-day ticket), you will not be able to see both Pharrell Williams and Maroon 5 because they will not perform on Sunday night.
If you just want to feel the race atmosphere and your main mission is to watch a hot Adam Levine (I don't care if he's married!), then a walk-about ticket may be more suitable to you. Note: walk-about ticket will not give you seat at the grandstand to watch the cars passing by. You can only see the cars from behind the fence. Literally.
