Singapore Travel: The Skyway and the Supertree Grove, Gardens by the Bay
"Time spent amongst trees is never wasted time." - Katrina Mayer
Yup, these are real trees. The trees are called "Supertrees" for a reason. The trees are meticulously combined with the steel frames. Then, various kind of plants are planted on the trunk of the trees.
The supertrees are connected to each other by a walkable skyway called OCBC Skyway (sponsored by OCBC Bank I suppose). If you want to walk on the skyway, you need to purchase a ticket. Yes, nothing is free. Too bad. The ticket costs S$5 for adults. If you don't want to go up, you are free to linger around the Supertree Grove.
After you get the ticket, you can either make your way up by taking the lift or the stairs (anyone need cardio?). There are a few rules that you need to take note before you start walking on the Skyway. The no heels part is kinda funny but some ladies are inseparable with their heels. Fair enough, I guess.
The iconic hotel, Marina Bay Sands ("MBS") is clearly visible from the skyway. I wonder when I have the chance to stay there. Maybe when MBS starts giving discount. Hahaha.
The view from the skyway is gorgeous around sunset. =)
Last admission for the OCBC Skyway is 8.30 PM. It opens daily.
