Singapore Travel: Walking Through Telok Ayer Green, Telok Ayer
To be honest with you, I don't know this place exist even though I walked passed it so many times on the way to Amoy Food Market from my office. I only noticed Telok Ayer Green exists when my friend pointed it out when we walked through it on the way to Ann Siang Hill.
Telok Ayer Green is a small park located just beside Thian Hock Keng temple, which is quite popular with the tourists. The park is decorated with statues from the olden days of Singapore.
Statues of a group of fishermen coming back from the sea. Unfortunately the park is also a popular place for those white-collars workers to smoke. I suppose that's probably I did not even bother to take a glance to this park in the weekday afternoon.
After walking through Telok Ayer Green, we walked pass a number of shophouses. These shophouses look ancient because they are supposed to look that way. Shophouses in Telok Ayer are considered heritage area of Singapore. The shophouses are usually rented out as offices, restaurants or boutiques.
Peeking through one particular crafts boutique, we saw a number of cute bunnies. <3
Do you like wandering around CBD on a weekend? If yes, now you don't have to walk all the way from Raffles Place MRT Station to Telok Ayer because you can take the Downtown Line to Telok Ayer MRT Station. I really like how convenient the MRT system in Singapore is. =)
