Singapore Eats: Paul, a French bakery in Singapore
Originated in France, Paul has come a long way to the Singapore's shore. It was initially established by a working class family living near Lille. Despite its humble start, Paul now has become a worldwide bakery franchise. One of Paul's location in Singapore is at Takashimaya, Orchard.
So, what makes Paul so popular in Singapore? For a start, the hot chocolate is quite enjoyable. Not too sweet not too bitter.

The next item is the iconic patisserie in Paul, the Millefeuille Nature. A crispy golden golden puff pastry filled with vanilla cream and topped with light apricot glaze.
Other than sweet cakes and patisseries, Paul also offers savoury mains like this Croque Monsieur. A turkey ham, emmental cheese and cream in toasted Pain de Mie. I love Croque Monsieur. Je t'aime!
On the not-so-exciting side, Paul has a rather steep price-tag in Singapore. But it's not like we can go to Paris everyday to eat croque monsieur, right? I guess we have to live with it (it = the high living cost) sometimes.
