10D9N Spring Japan Trip: Mori Garden at Roppongi Hills, Tokyo
It sounds like a sin not to visit Roppongi while you are in Tokyo. Roppongi is always a prominent area in all kind of games, manga and anime which is set to happen in Tokyo. It also sounds like a hip meeting place whenever you hang out with friends on a weekend. Immediately after exiting Roppongi subway station, we came out to Roppongi Hills, which is a huge building complex featuring offices, apartments, shops, restaurants, hotels (the five-star Grand Hyatt Tokyo is located near here), art museum, observation deck and more.
We did not have a lot of time to explore the observation deck, Tokyo City View. Since Roppongi is located pretty near to Tokyo Tower, we think that the view will be more or less the same as the view from Tokyo Tower observation deck. We ended up exploring Mori Garden instead. The flowers in the garden is beautiful and this was our first time seeing tulip in Japan.
Other than office buildings, Roppongi is also the headquarter of TV Asahi. Do you know that you can visit TV station in Japan? There is TV Asahi Shop inside the building which caters for visitors who'd like to buy goods from TV Asahi's shows or TV Asahi itself. The shop opens from 10AM to 7PM.
Back to Mori Garden, this garden really has a lot of pretty tulips. These are my favourite shots of the tulips.
It is a pity that the sakura trees have not started to bloom yet in Roppongi. Uhm, is that a giant spider next to the sakura trees? At second glance, there are a lot of random stuff that you can see here at Mori Garden. Why on earth they put a giant spider inside the garden?
Another random stuff that I noticed inside Mori Garden is a giant rose which is stationed beside a gazebo. Uhm, okay, this is probably one of those arts which I never get the hang of it. Hahaha.
Flowers, on the other hand, are easy to appreciate and pretty to be taken as a background picture. Go visit Roppongi Hills around end of March or early April and Mori Garden will be even more beautiful with all those sakura flowers blooming.
How to go to Roppongi Hills:
You can take the subway to Roppongi Station and follow the direction accordingly. Easy peasy.
