10D9N Spring Japan Trip: Namba Station Nom Nom Journey
Namba is a pretty good area to stay when you travel to Osaka. The district is located pretty near to the main attractions in Osaka such as Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori. In addition, it is merely three stations away from Shin-Osaka Station where the high speed rail terminal is located. There are so many hotel choices in Namba from the affordable to the luxury one. If you are interested, you can read about my experience staying at Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka in Namba here.
One thing that I'd like about Namba is it is easy for me to find food even late at night at Namba Station. For example, the bakery called Cookhouse still opens when I passed by around 9PM.

I love bakery in Japan. The bakeries sold all look pretty good to my eyes. I had a lot of difficulties deciding on one or two you see. Hahaha.
Cookhouse Bakery also has a lot of sandwiches with various filling from tonkatsu, to normal ham and cheese.
On the way from Namba Station to Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka, we saw a restaurant selling unagi rice box (re: grilled eel rice box). We were pretty much amazed because they sell the smallest box at merely 500 Japanese Yen. Is this real?
We ordered one box each for our dinner that night after one whole day playing at Universal Studio Japan.
Turned out it was such a MAJOR RIP-OFF. In contrary to the food display, the size of the unagi given to us is so puny, it is not even funny. Such a disappointment really. The taste is so-so too. Arghh, this was such a bad dinner for us.
Thankfully, I had the time to grab for myself a bag of Calbee at Family Mart in Namba Station, which taste pretty good. Consolation to otherwise, failed eel dinner. Grrr.
