10D9N Spring Japan Trip: Zojoji Temple and Tokyo Tower, Tokyo
Good afternoon Tokyo! Today's weather has been pretty good and in a good spring day like today, one should wander in the urban city of Tokyo. The location that I am going to visit today has been featured in countless manga and anime. Yes, it is the awesome Tokyo Tower. It seems to be the favourite place for a magic to happen or love to blossom. Even, Tokyo Tower seems to be famous spot for villains to attack. Growing up reading manga and watching anime, I have to visit Tokyo Tower You can take various line of subway to reach Tokyo Tower but all of them involves walking for a bit. Tokyo Tower will be in sight when you have reached this prominent red gate.
The red gate turns out to be the Sangedatsumon, the main entrance gate of Zojoji Temple, which is located right next to Tokyo Tower The temple was built in the year 1393 and it has been chosen by Tokugawa Ieyasu, one of the Japanese ruler in history, as his family temple. There is a mausoleum of the Tokugawa family on the temple grounds.
There is a cemetery at Zojoji Temple and in its garden lies rows of stone statues of children representing unborn children, including miscarried, aborted and stillborn children. Parents can choose a statue in the garden and decorate it with small clothing and toys. The statues are usually accompanied by a small gift for Jizo, the guardian of unborn children, to ensure that they are brough to the afterlife.

Even though we are still pretty early for sakura timing to bloom by a few days, there is one particular sakura tree which has bloomed. And it is white in color.
I did not know why is this sakura tree decided to bloom earlier but it makes a good spring pictorial of Tokyo Tower.
When the sakura trees are in full bloom, it will be an amazing shot. But for now, here is the shot of Tokyo Tower with budding sakura trees. Hahaha.
How to reach Zojoji Temple/ Tokyo Tower:
You can take the train to Onarimon Station and take exit A1. Once you have exited the station, you need to walk to the right for 6 minutes approximately.
